Lollywood – Reema at it now
Oh, please! As if this country needed any more talk shows and their hosts. That includes known faces that are used to speaking other people’s lines. It proved such an ordinary viewing when Reema appeared on a TV channel on Eid day and interviewed politicians Aitzaz Ahsan and Rana Sanaullah.
Describing her sets of question as “hutt ke” Reema hurled the same “bachpan mein shararti thay?” and “kabhi dil pe chot khai?” queries eliciting nothing but regular answers. Give us a break!
What was further infuriating was the fact that Reema tried to put up a calm exterior in front of the camera, but underneath that exterior there was a jittery, edgy woman. She just wouldn’t let the guests complete their answers and cut them short every time they tried to reply to her inane queries in detail.
Now why would Reema try her luck at talk show hosting? Hasn’t she proved her mettle in the realms of acting, dancing (and directing)?
Pakistan’s television industry is already inundated with countless chat shows and their anchors, and a majority of them are as insubstantial and their hosts as ineloquent as Pakistani films. So dear Reema, stick to what you do best, or what you try to do best to the best of your ability.
